Why do people keep comparing aaron rodgers to brett favre?

this bugs me, its ridiculous, first of all brett favre doesnt play for the packers anymore, he won a super bowl with the packers and now people are like trying to shove it in his face that aaron rodgers is better. but why? brett favre did so much for the packers and people dont like him now just because he eventually dressed up in a vikings uniform?, had his retiring controversies? thats stupid brett favre is 41 and you cant compare a guy whos 41 to a guy who is 27 of course the younger guy is gonna have more energy. brett favre is still one of the greatest to ever play for green bay and now people are trying to throw him out. didnt favre mentor aaron rodgers during his time with the packers? didnt he teach him how to be the QB he is right now? aaron rodgers did win super bowl MVP but i highly doubt that hes gonna win league MVP 3 years in a row like favre did. aaron rodgers is great but you should be comparing him to people like eli manning, matt ryan, mark sanchez, michael vick, hes not even close to being eligible enough to be compared to favre. its obvious just take a look at favre's stats. brett favre should be honored the special way like the way bart starr, joe montana, steve young, troy aikman were. not comparing him to his former backup quarterback. that just makes no sense to me. aaron rodgers is a really good quarterback, but you can never compare him to the great legend.
