How do Fossil Fuels Contribute our Carbon Footprint?

Burning fossil fuels like oil and coal releases Carbon Dioxide into our atmosphere. C02 is a greenhouse gas. Greenhouse gases trap in more of the sun's rays as they bounce of earth and try to leave the troposphere. They get blocked by these greenhouse gases which warm the planet and will eventually lead to global climate change. Thermal expansion in the oceans and the melting of the land ice will lead to the rise in sea levels.
